Salt of the River Necklace with Handmade Beads from Foraged Glass

Salt of the River Necklace with Handmade Beads from Foraged Glass

£90.00

This beautiful handmade glass bead necklace is created with found glass foraged from River Exe estuary beaches. These beautiful natural toned beads are made with a range of reclaimed glass, including from apothecary bottles, vintage marmite bottles, bovril bottles, and milk glass from cosmetics jars.

Created with an intuitive process, each piece of reclaimed glass is worked over a flame and moulded over a mandrel to create a unique bead.

The beads are threaded onto a leather cord, creating patterns that are informed by both repetition and novelty, inspired by the landscape in which the glass was foraged.

The necklaces are finished with handworked glass toggles on the cord ends, and a sliding clasp also made with glass.

The necklace is adjustable, and can be worn as long as 28 cm / 11 inches. The total length of the cord is 90 cm / 35 inches.

The bead sizes range from 7mm to 12 mm, and are arranged in size order.

Each necklace comes packed in a raw cotton drawstring bag, finished with handmade beads on the drawstring.

The photographs are a sample, each necklace will be uniquely handmade but follow this design.

Please note: Each necklace is handmade to order, and will take 3 weeks from order to dispatch.

Not suitable for children, small parts may be a choking hazard.
